Where I've been...

My planet was blown up one morning, that's why I'm dressed
like this, in my dressing gown. My planet was blown up with
all my clothes in it, you see. I didn't realize I'd be
coming to a party. Later, I was thrown off a spaceship.
Still in my dressing gown. Rather than the space suit one
would normally expect. Shortly after that I discovered that
my planet had originally been built for a bunch of mice.
You can imagine how I felt about that. I was then shot at
for a while and blown up.
In fact I have been blown up ridiculously often, shot at,
insulted, regularly disintegrated, deprived of tea, and
recently I crashed into a swamp and had to spend five years
in a damp cave.

Sing slow and sad.

I'm really close tonight
And I feel like I'm moving inside her
Lying in the dark
I think that I'm beginning to know her
Let it go
I'll be there when you call

Whenever I fall at your feet
And you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain

You're hiding from me now
There's something in the way that you're talking
The words don't sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you
Go, I'll be waiting when you call

Whenever I fall at your feet
And you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain

The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I'm more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help
Who knows where that might lead

I fall at your feet
And you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I fall

Insert guitar and horns and sing. Loudly.

sing, michael, sing
On the route of the 19 bus

We hear them sayin’

How you get a rude and a reckless?
Don’t you be so crude and a feckless
You been drinking brew for breakfast
Rudie can’t fail
No no

We reply

"I know that my life make you nervous
But I tell you that I can’t live in service
Like the doctor who's born for a purpose
Rudie can’t fail
Oh no

I went to the market to realise my soul
’cause what I need I just don’t have
First they curse, then they press me till I hurt
We say rudie can’t fail

We hear them sayin’

Now first you must cure your temper
Then you find a job in the paper
You need someone for a saviour
Oh, rudie can’t fail

We reply

Now we get a rude and a reckless
We been seen lookin’ cool an’ a speckless
We been drinking brew for breakfast
Rudie can’t fail
Oh no no

I went to the market to realise my soul
’cause what I need I just don’t have
First they curse, then they press me till I hurt
Rudie can’t fail

Okay!
So where you wanna go today?
Hey boss man!
You’re looking pretty smart
With your chicken skin suit

You think you’re pretty hot
In your pork pie hat
Rudie can't fail
Rudie can't fail
Rudie can't fail
Rudie can't fail
